Insurance

I am not in network for any insurance providers and my work is done fee for service. I can provide a superbill for you to file with your insurance to be reimbursed at out-of-network rates. Medicare is not billable for my services.

While my practice is fee for service and does not participate in direct 3rd party payments, I am happy to submit a CMS 1500 form for you which hopefully will expedite your insurance company reimbursing you at out- of-network rates. Contact your plan to determine what you are entitled to regarding out-of-network care.

FAQs

  • Lifestyle Psychiatry is a whole-body approach that focuses on the creation of health rather than on the manifestations of disease. The six pillars of Lifestyle Psychiatry are Nutrition, Movement, Sleep, Stress Reduction, Relationships and Habits that promote and/or sabotage health and wellness. Lifestyle interventions are proven to have profound effects on both mental and physical health.

  • Insurance companies add a thick layer of administrative overhead which results in distractions and a time loss for the physician that would otherwise be devoted to direct patient care. Insurance companies try to dictate everything from fees to length and frequency of appointments. I am devoted to patient care, insurance companies are concerned with internal profits.

Out-of-network reimbursements are possible, but not guaranteed from your insurance company. Please check with them with any questions.

Medicare is not billable for my services.

  • A CMA 1500 superbill is a standardized form used by healthcare providers to document and submit medical services for insurance reimbursement. It typically includes patient information, provider details, dates of service, diagnosis codes (ICD-10), procedure codes (CPT), and charges associated with the provided care. This form helps facilitate accurate billing and claims processing between healthcare providers and insurance companies.

  • I have vast experience in the use of psychiatric medications and offer medication carefully and conservatively. Non-pharmacological treatments are frequently offered prior to or in addition to prescribing psychotropic medications.

I will look at all the medicines and supplements you take with a lens for detecting drug interactions or psychiatric side effects. When possible I may suggest delaying prescribing new medications until after 2 or 3 sessions.

  • Psychotherapy is an important part of healing and learning and it provides the support needed to facilitate change and will be encouraged either with me as the therapist or through an outside psychotherapist. If you are seeing a therapist from another practice, I will collaborate with them to coordinate and reinforce this care.
